The stock market crash of 1876 sent the railroad into recievership Soon to be taken over by the M.O.V. The Mid-Ohio-Valley was looking for rails into the coalfeilds of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and to make connections to the east coast. The M.O.V. operated as a seperate railroad till 1989. Then it merged with C.S.X. transportation. The pictures in this site are of the M.O.V. still in use by C.S.X.
