WELCOME TO THE MID-OHIO VALLEY RAILROAD

The Lexington, Marrietta, and Connelsville chatered in 1871, begain to lay track from Marrietta OH, north to Connelsville PA. South to Lexington KY. The stock market crash of 1876 sent the railroad into recievership Soon to be taken over by the M.O.V. The Mid-Ohio-Valley was looking for rails into the coalfeilds of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and to make connections to the east coast. The M.O.V. operated as a seperate railroad till 1989. Then it merged with C.S.X. transportation. The pictures in this site are of the M.O.V. still in use by C.S.X.
